DAY 1: CAO DAI TEMPLE & CU CHI TUNNEL 01 DAY [L]
At 7:30 AM, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and depart for Cu Chi Tunnels, located about 50km from the city center. This is one of Vietnam’s most significant historical landmarks from the war for national liberation. The tunnel system stretches over 200 kilometers, interconnecting like a spiderweb underground.
You’ll have the chance to explore parts of the tunnel system, including underground kitchens, storage areas, medical clinics, meeting rooms, and command posts. Depending on your comfort and health, you can choose to go inside the tunnels at depths of 15m, 30m, 60m, or 100m. After the tunnel visit, you’ll be invited to taste cassava (khoai mì) – a staple food for the Viet Cong during wartime.
After saying goodbye to Cu Chi, continue your journey by car through scenic rubber plantations to the Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh, about one hour away. Arriving around noon, you’ll witness a colorful and unique midday ceremony of the Cao Dai religion, a spiritual movement founded in 1926 by Ngo Minh Chieu. The temple itself is a stunning fusion of Eastern and Western architecture, with vibrant domes and intricate decorations reflecting the inclusive nature of the religion.
After lunch, return to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving back at your hotel around 5:00 PM.
End of the tour.
